Three people have been arrested by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office as deputies responded to 39 complaints over the last 24-hour reporting period.

Laura Jones, 17, 719 Pepper Rd, Jeanerette LA, was arrested on December 1, 2015 on the charge of theft. A deputy assigned to patrol the Jeanerette area responded to a call of a disturbance at 719 Pepper Rd. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Jones had taken a bicycle from another person without their permission. Jones was released on a summons to appear in court on March 7, 2016.

Dwayne Clark, 43, 165 Lenny's Lane, Amelia LA, was arrested on December 1, 2015 at 8:28pm for failure to signal a lane change and driving under suspension. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area observed the driver of a vehicle fail to signal a lane change on Highway 90. A traffic stop was conducted and contact was made with the driver, Clark. During the course of the stop, it was discovered that Clark's license was suspended. Clark was transported to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $1,250.

Alton Kemp, 29, 458 Verdun Lane, Centerville LA, was arrested on December 1, 2015 at 8:28pm for a warrant on the charge of telephone harassment. A deputy conducting a traffic stop made contact with the passenger of a vehicle, Kemp, and learned of the active warrant for his arrest. The warrant stems from an invesgitation conducted by the Morgan City Police Department. Kemp was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
