8 people were arrested over the 72-hour weekend reporting period as St. Mary Parish Sheriff's deputies responded to at least 114 complaints.

Tabitha G. Gros, 38, 605 David Drive, Patterson, LA was arrested on December 4, 2015 at 10:26 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of theft of goods and 2 warrants for probation violation. A deputy located Gros at a business in Berwick on the warrants and transported her to the parish jail for booking. Gros was released after posting a $12,000 bond.

De’Erin Thomas, 19, 424 Charlie Drive, Patterson, LA was arrested on December 4, 2015 at 7:30 pm for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting that occurred at a store in Bayou Vista on November 22, 2015. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from store personnel that the subject who was seen stealing items had returned to the store. Following the investigation, the deputy released Thomas on a summons to appear in court on March 7, 2016.

Hiram L. Eugene, Sr., 35 1019 Pellerin Street, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on December 5, 2015 at 11:54 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle with a suspended license, speeding, operating a vehicle with an expired license plate, and operating a vehicle without proof of insurance. A deputy conducted a stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation on Martin Luther King Road in Charenton. The deputy made contact with the driver, Eugene, and located the active warrant for his arrest. The deputy transported Eugene to the parish jail. No bail is set.

Earl Vanacor, 48, 322 Up The Bayou Road, Des Allemands, LA was arrested on December 5, 2015 at 5:15 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of speeding, operating a vehicle without a driver’s license on person, and failure to honor written promise to appear. While booking Vanacor on separate charges at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center, a jailer located the active warrant for Vanacor’s arrest. No bail is set.

Laronzo White, 26, 114 Jollivette Street, Baldwin, LA was arrested on December 5, 2015 at 11:33 pm on a warrant for disturbing the peace (intoxicated), battery of a police officer, and 6 counts simple battery. On November 13, 2014, a deputy was dispatched to a medical emergency at a business on Highway 90 in Jeanerette where White had fallen to the ground and began thrashing around. While being transported to a local hospital, White attempted to strike paramedics. After arriving at the medical facility White committed acts of violence on paramedics and nurses. White pushed, struck, and spit on medical personnel who were attending him. White’s violent actions and combative demeanor were consistent with the use of synthetic drugs. Due to White’s combative nature, additional deputies were called to assist. While attempting to restrain White for safety reasons, he struck and pushed the deputies. White was transported to a hospital in Lafayette for further treatment for the suspected abuse of synthetic marijuana. Deputies subsequently obtained a warrant for his arrest. A deputy located White during a vehicle stop for a traffic violation on Highway 182 in Sorrel. Bail is set at $4,500.

Jessica D. Johnson, 39, 853 Irish Bend Road, Franklin, LA was arrested on December 6, 2015 at 12:34 pm on a warrant from the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office for theft. A deputy made contact with Johnson at a residence on Lou Street in Centerville while responding to a separate complaint. The deputy transported Johnson to the parish jail for booking. Johnson was released on a $5,000 bond.

Trey Seneca, 17, 120 Foxglove Road, Patterson, LA was arrested on December 6, 2015 at 10:41 pm for simple battery and criminal damage to property. A deputy was dispatched to a complaint of a disturbance on Foxglove Drive. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Seneca punched a male victim in the head during an argument. The deputy also discovered that Seneca had punched a wall at the residence during a previous incident. The deputy transported Seneca to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $750.

Jeralyn Carson, 21, 703 Labau Street, Baldwin, LA was arrested on December 5, 2015 at 12:58 pm for cultivation of marijuana. A detective with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division was called out by the Patrol Division in reference to a marijuana grow at the above listed residence. Deputies went to the residence in reference to a Franklin Police Department arrest warrant for failure to appear. While attempting to locate Carson on the warrant, deputies observed marijuana plants growing near the back door of the residence. Carson was located inside and transported to the parish jail for booking. He was released on a 1,720.50 bond.
