2 arrests have been made by deputies with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office over the last 24-hour reporting period. Deputies responded to 36 complaints.

Edward Robertson, 33, 144 McGill Court, Gibson, LA was arrested on December 29, 2015 at 12:25 am for criminal damage to property. A deputy responded to a complaint of a disturbance on Village Lane in Amelia and made contact with Robertson. After collecting statements and other evidence at the scene, the deputy determined that Robertson shattered the front windshield of a vehicle during an argument with a female subject. Robertson was released on a summons to appear in court on March 7, 2016.

Joseph Saldivar, 22, 915 Florence Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on December 29, 2015 at 1:09 am for stop light violation and driving while intoxicated. A deputy traveling on Highway 182 in Morgan City observed a vehicle drive through a red light at Federal Avenue and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Saldivar and smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and person. The deputy conducted a field sobriety test on which Saldivar performed poorly. Saldivar later registered a 0.103 grams percent blood alcohol concentration. Saldivar was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
