St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Arrest Report

6 arrests have been made by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office over the last 24-hour reporting period. Deputies responded to 47 complaints.

Jeremy Landry, 27, 11050 Highway 182, Franklin, LA was arrested on January 11, 2016 at 9:01 am on a warrant for cruelty to animals. On January 5, 2016, a deputy responded to a complaint of animal cruelty at a residence in the Franklin area. Upon arrival, the deputy located a deceased dog in the yard. With the assistance of a Humane Society animal cruelty investigator, it was determined that Landry failed to provide proper care for the animal. Landry turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office in Franklin. Landry was released on a summons to appear in court on March 30, 2016.

Darrell Colbert, Jr., 48, 505 AB Martin Road, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on January 11, 2016 at 10:21 am on a warrant for simple battery and simple assault. A deputy investigating a complaint of a battery that occurred at a residence in Jeanerette gathered evidence that Colbert pushed a female victim and struck her in the face and head several times. During the confrontation, Colbert made verbal threats on the victim and her family's lives. A warrant was issued for his arrest. Colbert turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office in Franklin and was transported to the parish jail for booking. Colbert was released after posting a $750 bond.

Roland Alfred, 35, 1031 Highway 318, Four Corners, LA was arrested on January 11, 2016 at 2:47 pm for home invasion and aggravated battery. Deputies responded to a complaint of a disturbance at a residence in Four Corners and learned that an altercation had taken place between two male subjects. Deputes located both subjects and detained them. During the course of the investigation, deputies determined that Alfred walked through the open front door of a residence and struck a male victim in the head with a handgun during an ongoing argument between the two. Alfred was transported to the parish jail for booking. Alfred was released on a $9,000 bond.

Kenneth J. Alfred, 42, 1210 Canal Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on January 11, 2016 at 5:28 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of direct contempt, speeding, and failure to honor written promise to appear. A deputy responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of St. Mary Plaza in Bayou Vista. The deputy made contact with the driver of the vehicle, identified as Alfred, and located the active warrant for his arrest. Alfred was transported to the parish jail for booking and later released on a $365 bond.

Michael Young, 21, 1818 Gay Drive, Franklin, LA was arrested on January 11, 2016 at 5:46 pm for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Drizzt Morales, 19, 214 Chauvin Drive, Franklin, LA was arrested on January 11, 2016 at 5:46 pm for possession of marijuana.

Narcotics detectives patrolling the area of Sterling Rd. near Main St. in Franklin observed a vehicle cross over the center line of the roadway and conducted a traffic stop on Chauvin Drive. Detectives made contact with the driver, identified as Young, and a passenger, identified as Morales. While speaking with the subjects detectives received consent to a search. Detectives found a bag of marijuana on Morales. They also located cigar wraps and a digital scale with small pieces of marijuana on it on Young. Following the investigation, Young and Morales were released on summonses to appear in court on March 30, 2016.
