16 arrests were made over the holiday weekend by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office. Deputies responded to 161 complaints.

Jimmie Rulf , 53, 201 Elaine Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on January 16, 2016 at 3:38 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal trespassing.

Joseph Rulf , 25, 122 Moffet Court, Morgan City, LA was arrested on January 16, 2016 at 3:43 pm for driving under suspension.

A deputy received information about the whereabouts of a subject who was wanted on a warrant. The deputy located the subject, Jimmie Rulf, riding as a passenger in a vehicle on Highway 90 in Amelia and stopped the vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, Joseph Rulf. While speaking with Joseph Rulf, the deputy discovered that he was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Joseph Rulf was released on a summons to appear in court on March 30, 2016. Jimmie Rulf was transported to the parish jail. He was released on a $2,000 bond.

Juvenile male , 15, Four Corners, LA was arrested on January 16, 2016 at 5:49 pm for aggravated assault and ungovernable juvenile. A deputy responded to a disturbance at a residence on Big Four Corners Road. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that the juvenile refused to listen to his guardian and threatened a female victim with a knife. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.

Leroy Robertson , 45, 1405 South MLK Drive, St. Martinville, LA was arrested on January 17, 2016 at 1:47 am for speeding and driving under suspension. A deputy observed a vehicle travelling 67 miles per hour in the 55 mile per hour zone on Highway 182 in Sorrell and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy made contact with the driver identified as Robertson. The driver’s license provided to the deputy by Robertson was listed as suspended. Robertson was released on a summons to appear in court on March 30, 2016.

Clifford Decuir, Jr. , 45, 906 Tall Timbers Drive, Lot #6, Patterson, LA was arrested on January 17, 2016 at 11:25 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of no seat belt and texting while driving. A deputy responding to a separate complaint made contact with Decuir and located the active warrant for his arrest. The deputy transported Decuir to the parish jail. Decuir was released on a summons to appear in court on March 30, 2016.

Earl W. Cleary , 51, 232 Wayne Lane, Centerville, LA was arrested on January 17, 2016 at 1:46 pm on a warrant for terrorizing. A detective investigating a complaint of terrorizing gathered evidence that Cleary made threatening statements that he was going to rob a Centerville business at gun point. A warrant was issued for his arrest. A deputy located Cleary at his residence and transported him to the parish jail. No bail is set.

Keith Lewis , 58, 826 Martin Luther King Road, Baldwin, LA was arrested on January 17, 2016 at 3:07 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of operating a vehicle with an expired motor vehicle inspection. A deputy located Lewis at his residence and transported him to the parish jail. Lewis was released on a $250 bond.

Kevon T. Loston , 19, 117 Ronald Lane, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on January 17, 2016 at 5:26 pm on a warrant for possession of marijuana. The warrant is the result of an investigation into a single vehicle crash that occurred on Highway 83 in Ashton on January 5, 2016. The deputy arrived and found that both occupants of the vehicle had left the area. The deputy located marijuana inside the vehicle. As the deputy continued the investigation, one of the occupants, Loston, returned to the scene. While speaking with Loston, the deputy gathered information that the illegal substance belonged to Loston. The deputy obtained a warrant for his arrest. Loston was located on Ronald Lane and transported to the parish jail. He was released on a summons to appear in court on March 30, 2016.

Carlos Melendez , 38, 100 Lumen Christi Lane, Schriever, LA was arrested on January 17, 2016 at 8:32 pm for simple battery. A detective investigating a possible battery gathered evidence that Melendez grabbed a 14 year old male juvenile and kissed him on the cheek and mouth without the juvenile’s consent. The incident occurred at a church in Amelia on January 10, 2016. A warrant was issued for Melendez’s arrest. Melendez was located on Talbot Avenue in Thibodaux with the assistance of the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office and transported to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Morgan City in reference to the investigation. Melendez was subsequently arrested on the warrant and transported to the parish jail for booking.

Roosevelt Hudson , 61, 504 Bollard Street, Baldwin, LA was arrested on January 17, 2016 at 11:21 pm for driving under suspension, no driver’s license on person, and carless operation of a vehicle. A deputy patrolling the Baldwin area observed a vehicle cross the centerline on Highway 182 nearly striking two other vehicles on the roadway. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Hudson. Hudson was unable to provide a valid driver’s license to the deputy. The deputy also learned that Hudson’s license was listed as suspended. Hudson as released on a summons to appear in court on March 30, 2016.

Eric W. Hofsommer , 52, 1448 Evergreen Street, Bayou Vista LA was arrested on January 18, 2016 at 10:00 am for violation of the parish ordinance governing truck routes. A deputy responded to a complaint of a tractor-trailer traveling on Venus Road in Bayou Vista. Venus Road is not a truck route. The deputy made contact with the truck driver, identified as Hofsommer. Following the investigation, Hofsommer was released on a summons to appear in court on March 30, 2016.

Iraneka J. Amos , 24, 153 Mars Road, Apt. #3, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on January 18, 2016 at 2:06 pm for aggravated battery, domestic abuse battery, and resisting a police officer with force or violence. A deputy responded to a disturbance at a residence on Mars Road. Upon arrival, the deputy heard screaming coming from inside the residence. After knocking on the door, the deputy heard a voice cry for help. The deputy entered the residence and located two female subjects. While detaining one of the subjects, later identified as Amos, she forcefully pulled away from the deputy. During the investigation, the deputy collected evidence indicating that Amos struck a female victim with a fork. The victim was transported by Acadian Ambulance to Teche Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. Amos was transported to the parish jail. No bail is set.

Cameron M. Guidry , 17, 106 Comeaux Street, Pierre Part, LA was arrested on January 18, 2016 at 3:32 pm for reckless operation of a vehicle. A deputy traveling on Highway 90 in the Berwick area observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed weaving from lane to lane in traffic without using a blinker. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Guidry. Following the traffic stop investigation, the deputy released Guidry on a summons to appear in court on March 30, 2016.

Joshua P. Boudreaux , 24, 151 Anderson Road, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on January 18, 2016 at 9:54 pm for reckless operation of a vehicle with a crash, possession of Schedule I (synthetic marijuana), possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. A deputy responded to a report of a vehicle in a ditch off of the Highway 90 frontage road near Morsei Road. The deputy learned that fire department personnel had retrieved two firearms that were seen inside the vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Boudreaux, and received consent to search the vehicle. The deputy located 2 small bags containing suspected synthetic marijuana and a glass pipe used for smoking the synthetic substance. The deputy transported Boudreaux to the parish jail for booking.

Justin W. Taylor , 17, 216 Field Street, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on January 19, 2016 at 3:43 am for possession of codeine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Matthew T. Rollins , 22, 113 Diane Lane, Lot #6, Patterson, LA was arrested on January 19, 2016 at 3:43 am for failure to dim headlights, aggravated flight from an officer, possession of codeine, and no driver’s license.

A deputy observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The deputy also observed that the driver of the SUV failed to dim the vehicle’s headlights for oncoming traffic. The deputy initiated a traffic stop on Sterling Bridge Approach Road. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and accelerated the SUV to speeds above the posted limit. The deputy followed the vehicle and observed the driver run through a red light on Willow Street. The vehicle then came to a stop in a parking lot on Anderson Street. The deputy observed a male subject exit the vehicle and flee on foot. The deputy detained two other occupants in the vehicle pending further investigation. The driver, identified as Rollins, was unable to present a valid driver’s license. While speaking with the passenger, identified as Taylor, the deputy smelled the strong odor of marijuana on his person. The deputy received consent to search the vehicle and located a grinder with pieces of marijuana in it and a bottle containing codeine. The deputy gathered information indicating that the illegal substances and drug paraphernalia belonged to Taylor. The deputy also located a bag of marijuana on Taylor’s person. Both subjects were transported to the parish jail for booking. Taylor was released on a $4,500 personal surety bond. No bail is set for Rollins.
