17 people were arrested over the President’s Day holiday weekend. St. Mary Parish deputies say they responded to 158 complaints.

Jakeysha M. Broussard, 31, 114 South Myrtle Street, Abbeville, LA was arrested on February 12, 2016 at 5:54 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of speeding and driving under suspension. A correctional officer transported Broussard from the Iberia Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrant. Broussard was released on a $1,500 bond.

Harold Perkins, Jr., 37, 125 Caprice Court, Houma, LA was arrested on February 12, 2016 at 9:46 am on warrants for failure to appear on the charges of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. A correctional officer transported Perkins to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

Yvishia Levine, 25, 1209 Third Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on February 12, 2016 at 12:37 pm on Franklin Police Department warrants for violating a protective order and resisting an officer. A deputy assigned to the Warrants Division located Levine at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse in Franklin and transported her to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

Minh Lam, 59, 260 Vivian Street, Bayou L’Ourse, LA was arrested on February 12, 2016 at 12:24 pm for speeding and driving under suspension, 2nd offense. A deputy observed a vehicle speeding on LA Hwy. 182 in Amelia and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy made contact with the driver, Lam, and discovered that his driver’s license was listed as suspended. Te deputy transported Lam to the parish jail for booking. Lam was released on a summons to appear in court on May 4, 2016.

Joshua T. Miller, 117 Laura Drive, Patterson, LA was arrested on February 12, 2016 at 3:45 pm on a warrant for pornography involving juveniles. A detective investigating a complaint of a molestation of a juvenile (see February 8, 2016 arrest report) developed information that Miller downloaded pornographic images of children. The detective obtained a search warrant and located over 80 images of child pornography on Miller’s personal computer and other electronic devices. A warrant was then issued for his arrest. The detectives located Miller at his residence. Miller was transported to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $300,000.

Johnathan Rollins, 28, 163 Gibbs Road, Franklin, LA was arrested on February 12, 2016 at 7:15 pm on a warrant for criminal neglect of family. A deputy made contact with Rollins on Highway 90 Frontage Road in Jeanerette and located the active warrant for his arrest. Rollins was transported to the parish jail for booking. Rollins was released on an $885.55 recognizance bond.

Alfred Gabriel, 55, 158 ½ Gabriel Street, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on February 13, 2016 at 6:45 am on a warrant from Chitimacha Tribal Police for 2 counts attempted 2nd degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and unauthorized use of a movable. A deputy developed information regarding the whereabouts of Gabriel who was wanted for the attempted second degree murder of two victims. The deputy located Gabriel at a residence in Sorrel and took him into custody without incident. Gabriel was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

Jaime Quintanilla, Sr., 58, 337 Southeast Boulevard, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on February 13, 2016 at 4:36 pm for obscenity. A deputy responded to a complaint of obscenity at Two Sisters Landing in Bayou Vista. The deputy gathered statements that Quintanilla was seen masturbating inside of a vehicle. Quintanilla was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

Dona F. Sniffen, 26, 715 Versoin Street, Berwick, LA was arrested on February 13, 2016 at 10:12 pm for violating the maximum speed limit law and improper lane usage. A deputy travelling Highway 90 in Bayou Vista observed a vehicle moving at 80 miles per hour in a posted 55 mile per hour zone. The deputy also observed the vehicle cut off another driver before exiting in Berwick. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Sniffen. Following the traffic stop investigation, Sniffen was released on a summons to appear in court on May 4, 2016.

Clifford J. Johnson. Jr., 34, 148 Jones Road #2, Four Corners, LA was arrested on February 14, 2016 at 3:37 pm for the following offenses:

  • Obstructing public passages
  • General speed law
  • Resisting an officer
  • Obstruction of justice
  • Illegal carrying of weapons (brass knuckles)
  • Possession with intent to distribute marijuana
  • Possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine
  • Possession with intent to distribute Schedule IV (Xanax)
  • Possession with intent to distribute MDMA (ecstasy)
  • Violation of a controlled dangerous substance law in a drug free zone
  • Transactions involving proceeds from illegal drug sales
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Deputies patrolling the Four Corners area observed two vehicles stopped on Jones Road #2 in the middle of the roadway blocking both lanes of travel. Deputies then observed the vehicles travel onto Big Four Corners Road where one of the drivers’ accelerated to 50 miles per hour in a posted 25 mile per hour zone. Deputies initiated a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle pulled into a nearby driveway, exited the vehicle, and fled on foot. Deputies pursued the subject on foot and observed him drop a bag containing illegal drugs to the ground. The subject, identified as Johnson, was apprehended. Deputies recovered the bag Johnson dropped and found illegal drugs packaged for street level sales. The bag contained the following items:

  • 26 bags of marijuana
  • 3 bags of cocaine
  • Crack cocaine formed into 4 discs (referred to as cookies)
  • Bags containing Xanax pills
  • A bag containing 3 MDMA pills
  • Plastic baggies
  • A razor blade

During a search of Johnson's person, deputies located brass knuckles and $1,483.00 in cash. This incident occurred within 2,000 ft. of a church. Johnson was transported to the parish jail for booking. Johnson was later released after posting $30,000 bond.

Carlos Alberto Rivera, 24, 927 Alvin Street, New Iberia, LA was arrested on February 14, 2016 at 3:46 am for unlawful production, manufacturing, distribution, or possession of fraudulent documents. A deputy observed a vehicle parked on Old Highway 319 in Cypremort Point, went to investigate, and made contact with a subject inside the vehicle. The subject presented the deputy with a fake Texas identification card. Rivera was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

Kim Dekerlegand, 50, 435 Teche Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on February 14, 2016 at 11:38 am for off road vehicle on a public roadway. A deputy observed a male subject driving an ATV with two juveniles on Teche Road. The deputy made contact with the driver, Dekerlegand, and following the traffic stop released him on a summons to appear in court on May 4, 2016.

Michael Everitt, Jr., 39, 539 Clarke Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on February 15, 2016 at 8:32 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of child desertion. A deputy located Everitt at his residence on the warrant and transported him to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $2,500.

Brent J. Bridges, 30, 132 Vaughn Lane, Franklin, LA was arrested on February 15, 2016 at 7:35 pm for the following offenses:

  • Possession of Schedule II (methamphetamine)
  • Possession of Schedule II (Norco)
  • Possession of a Legend Drug without a prescription
  • Entering contraband into a penal institution

A deputy investigating a complaint of a suspicious person at a business on Highway 90 in Bayou Vista made contact with Bridges. While speaking with him, the deputy discovered that he was in possession methamphetamine and a Narco pill. The pill was located inside of a prescription pill bottle that did not belong to Bridges. Following the investigation, Bridges was transported to the parish jail. No bail is set.

Juvenile female, 16, Patterson, LA was arrested on February 15, 2016 at 11:19 pm for runaway juvenile. A deputy investigating a complaint of a runaway juvenile located the teen at a business in Bayou Vista. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.

Breanna M. Warren, 24, 102 Cautillion Drive, Youngsville, LA was arrested on February 15, 2016 at 11:11 pm for driving while intoxicated and careless operation of a motor vehicle. A deputy responded to a report of a vehicle in a ditch off of LA Highway 182 in Sorrel. The deputy made contact with the driver of the vehicle, Warren, and smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath and person. The deputy conducted a field sobriety test on which Warren performed poorly. Warren later registered a 0.223g% blood alcohol concentration on a breath test. Warrant was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

Dallas Hamlett, 21, 102 Rizzo Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on February 16, 2016 at 12:51 am for simple burglary (vehicle) and unauthorized use of an access card. A deputy responded to a report of a vehicle burglary that occurred at a convenience store in Centerville. While investigating the complaint, another deputy at a another location made contact with a male subject claiming to have found a credit card in the parking lot of the store. The subject was identified as Hamlet. When the deputy questioned him about the card, Hamlet admitted to taking a purse from an unlocked vehicle at the store. Hamlett also admitted to the deputy that he used the card at the store. Deputies recovered the stolen items and returned them to the victim. Hamlett was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
