The following is a list of the people arrested by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office:

Ronald J. Armond, Sr.., 43, 248 Murial Street, Bayou L’Ourse, LA was arrested on August 21, 2015 at 4:30 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of hydrocodone and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. A deputy transported Armond from the Assumption Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrants.

 

Brian J. Weston, 26, 101 Lori Lane #5, Patterson, LA was arrested on August 21, 2015 at 1:30 pm for theft. A deputy responded to a report of a theft at a business on Highway 90 in the Patterson area. The deputy learned from the complainant that a subject was seen reaching over the sales counter and taking several scratch off lottery tickets. The deputy identified the subject as Weston and located him at his residence on Lori Lane. Following the investigation, Weston was released on a summons to appear in court on November 17, 2015.

Kendrick Edmond, 23, 111 Schoolhouse Lane, Charenton, LA was arrested on August 22, 2015 at 12:35 am for domestic abuse battery (strangulation) and domestic abuse battery (child endangerment). A deputy was dispatched to a report of a domestic battery at a residence in Charenton. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Edmond grabbed a female victim by the throat and pushed her onto a couch. Edmond continued to grab the victim around her neck and slap her repeatedly as she attempted to get away from him. The deputy also made contact with several young children who were present during the battery. Edmond fled from the residence when he learned the Sheriff’s Office had been contacted. Deputies searched the area including Edmond’s residence. The suspect later came to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Franklin to speak with deputies in reference to the investigation. Edmond was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

Rebecca Freer, 32, 1163 Highway 662, Bayou L’Ourse, LA was arrested on August 21, 2015 at 10:01 pm for the following violations:

-     Hit and run driving, 2 counts

-     Disturbing the peace (intoxication)

-     Reckless operation of a vehicle

Deputies responded to two reports of hit and run crashes in the parking lots of two businesses on Highway 182 in Bayou Vista. With the assistance of witnesses to the crashes and other subjects on scene, deputies identified Freer as the driver involved in both incidents and located her at one of the businesses. Deputies observed damage to Freer’s vehicle that was consistent with damage to the victims’ vehicles. Following the investigation, Freer was transported to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $3,000.

Sidney T. Couvillier, Sr., 48, 217 Chauvin Lane, Franklin, LA was arrested on August 22, 2015 at 12:05 am for driving while intoxicated. A deputy responded to a complaint of a reckless driver on Highway 317 in Centerville. The deputy located a vehicle matching the complainant’s description at a residence on Highway 317 in Bayou Sale and made contact with a male subject, identified as Couvillier, sitting inside. The deputy smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on Couvillier’s breath and person. The deputy conducted a field sobriety test on which Couvillier performed poorly. Couvillier later registered a 0.250g% blood alcohol concentration. The deputy transported Courvillier to the parish jail for booking. Couvillier was released on a summons to appear in court on November 17, 2015. The summons was subsequently recalled based on conditions of bond set by judges’ order. A deputy located Couvillier at his residence, placed him into custody, and transported him to the parish jail for booking. Couvillier was released after posting $5,000 bond.

Bartolo Pozos Fermin, 36, 869 Two Brothers Street, Amelia, LA was arrested on August 22, 2015 at 5:07 pm for domestic abuse battery. A deputy responded to a disturbance at a residence in Amelia. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Fermin grabbed a female victim around the neck during an argument. The deputy transported Fermin to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

Anthony R. Stevenson, 50, 1348 Martin Luther King Road, Charenton, LA was arrested on August 22, 2015 at 10:09 pm for domestic abuse battery and domestic abuse battery (child endangerment). A deputy responded to a report of a domestic battery at a residence in Charenton. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Stevenson and a female victim were arguing inside a vehicle when Stevenson grabbed the victim by the wrist and began yelling at her. When the two reached their destination, Stevenson slapped her repeatedly and attempted to pull her from the vehicle. The deputy made contact with several juveniles who were present during the battery. The deputy transported Stevenson to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

Cole Z. Fruge, 23, 1302 Saturn Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on August 23, 2015 at 1:41 pm for simple battery and remaining where forbidden. A deputy responded to a report of a battery at a residence in Bayou Vista. While investigating the complaint, the determined that Fruge refused to leave the residence and struck a male victim in the head during an argument. The deputy transported Fruge to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $1,000.

Cody Labit, 26, 118 Daigre Street, Loreauville, LA was arrested on August 23, 2015 at 6:27 pm for hit and run driving and failure to report an accident. A deputy investigating a vehicle crash that occurred on Highway 87 in Jeanerette on August 22, 2015 developed information that Labit was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash. Labit came to the Chitimacha Tribal Police Department where the deputy was waiting to speak with him in reference to the investigation. The deputy determined that Labit drove the vehicle into a utility pole and then left the scene of the crash. Labit was transported to the parish jail for booking. Labit was released after posting a $1,250 bond.
