4 names appear on the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office arrest report. Deputies say they investigated 43 complaints.

Harley N. Rentrop , 23, 1224 South Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on February 22, 2016 at 5:17 pm on a warrant for distribution of Schedule I drugs (marijuana and synthetic cannabinoids) and introduction of contraband into a penal institution. Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division conducting an investigation at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center gathered evidence that Rentrop brought illegal drugs to the jail with the intent of supplying an inmate with the contraband. Rentrop was taken into custody at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Franklin on the warrant. No bail is set. This is an ongoing investigation.
Jessica C. Bourgeois , 35, 825 Two Brother’s Street, Amelia, LA was arrested on February 22, 2016 at 8:04 pm for possession of synthetic cannabinoids and possession of drug paraphernalia. Narcotics detectives received information that illegal drug activity was taking place at the above listed address. Detectives went to the location and made contact with Bourgeois. While speaking with her, Bourgeois admitted that there were synthetic cannabinoids and cigar wraps inside the residence. The illegal items were located. Bourgeois was released on a summons to appear in court on May 4, 2016.

Tiffany L. Romero , 36, 105 Nichole Lane, Berwick, LA was arrested on February 22, 2016 at 3:44 pm for the following violations:
- Hit and run driving
- Driving left of center
- Expired inspection sticker
- No insurance
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
Deputies were dispatched to Highway 182 near Southwest Road in Bayou Vista after receiving a 911 call of a hit and run involving a bus. When deputies arrived, they made contact with the bus driver, another adult supervisor, and 6 juveniles who were riding on the school bus. The Bayou Vista Volunteer Fire Department and Acadian Ambulance Service also responded to the scene. None of the occupants of the bus reported any injuries. However, Acadian Ambulance paramedics tended each of the occupants as a precaution. During the crash investigation, deputies collected evidence indicating that a car crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic and side-swiped the school bus despite the bus driver’s efforts to avoid a collision. Witnesses to the hit and run provided deputies with descriptive information on the suspect vehicle. Deputies located the damaged car in the parking lot of a business on Highway 90 and made contact with the driver, who was identified as Romero. In addition to finding evidence of the collision, deputies also discovered that Romero was operating the vehicle with no insurance and with an expired inspection sticker. During her arrest, deputies located a glass pipe suspected of being used to smoke illegal drugs on her person. Romero was transported to the parish jail. Bail is set at $3,250.

Kenneth Blanchard, II , 17, 10827 Highway 182, Franklin, LA was arrested on February 22, 2016 at 7:40 pm for burglary of an inhabited dwelling. Deputies responded to a complaint of a residential burglary on Highway 182 in the Franklin area. Deputies developed Blanchard as the suspect. While questioning Blanchard about the incident he admitted to detectives that he used a spare key that he knew was hidden under a rug to enter the residence. Blanchard then stole a female victim’s underwear. Blanchard was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

Note: The following charges were added on February 19, 2016.

Tomoz Allen , 20, Patterson, LA and Dion Maize, 23, Morgan City, LA, were additionally charged with simple battery on February 19, 2016 at 1:45 pm. A detective investigating a report of a possible altercation at the jail gathered evidence indicating that inmates Allen and Maize struck another inmate on February 13, 2016 causing scratches on the victim’s forehead. No bail is set.
