2 arrests show up in the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office arrest report. Deputies say they investigated 27 complaints over the last 24-hour reporting period.

Matthew Strubb, 18, 1803 Canal Driver, Franklin, LA was arrested on March 2, 2016 at 9:33 am for illegal possession of stolen things. A deputy investigating a complaint of a theft received information regarding a possible location of the stolen items. Following the lead, the deputy found 4 LED light bars that were reported stolen inside a vehicle at a residence on Highway 182 in the Centerville area. The deputy collected evidence that Strubb was in possession of the items. Strubb was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

Clarence T. Sheets, Jr., 45, 468 Wilson Street, Berwick, LA was arrested on March 2, 2016 at 5:35 pm for reckless operation of a vehicle, driving under suspension, and possession of open alcoholic beverages in a motor vehicle. A deputy traveling on Highway 182 in the Amelia area observed a driver passing other vehicles at a high rate of speed and nearly striking an oncoming vehicle. The vehicle continued to travel at a high rate of speed before making a turn without signaling. Upon stopping the vehicle, the deputy observed a male subject exit the driver's seat with a can of beer in his hand. The deputy also found that the driver, identified as Sheets, was operating the vehicle with a driver's license that was listed as suspended. Sheets was transported to the parish jail for booking. Sheets was released on a summons to appear in court on May 27, 2016.
