8 arrests were made over the last 24-hour reporting period by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office. Deputies say they investigated 46 complaints.

Adrian Hixon , 33, 909 Prairie Road North, Centerville, LA was arrested on March 17, 2016 at 7:08 am on the following warrants:
- Warrant for failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle with a suspended license and speeding
- Warrant for failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle with a suspended license and operating a vehicle with improper tail lights
- Warrant for failure to appear on the charges of resisting an officer (by providing false information) and operating a vehicle with a suspended license
- Warrant for failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle with no insurance and following too close
- Warrant for failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, possession of (open) alcoholic beverages in motor vehicles, and operating a vehicle with a suspended license
A deputy located Hixon at his residence on the warrants. Hixon was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

Dat H. Duong , 48, 120 Glenwood Street, Lot #1, Morgan City, LA was arrested on March 17, 2016 at 10:27 am for driving on the right side of roads and possession of Schedule II (cocaine). While driving westbound on Highway 182 in the Morgan City area a deputy observed an oncoming vehicle in the westbound lane traveling eastbound directly toward the police unit. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Duong. While speaking with him, the deputy received consent to search his person and located 4 pieces of crack cocaine (commonly referred to as crack rocks). The deputy found 3 of the crack rocks in the brim of the hat Duong was wearing. Duong was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

Jimmy K. Loveless, III , 33, 1504 South Bayou Drive, Golden Meadow, LA was arrested on March 17, 2016 at 1:40 pm on a warrant for theft of a motor vehicle and theft. A correctional officer transported Loveless to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center from the Calcasieu Parish jail on the warrant. The warrant was issued following an investigation into the theft of a vehicle from a residence in the Centerville area in March of 2015. The detective assigned to the case gathered evidence that Loveless entered the unlocked vehicle and found that it did not have a battery. Loveless took a battery that he took from nearby, installed it in the vehicle, and then used the keys that were inside the vehicle to steal it. The vehicle was located in Lake Charles where loveless had been arrested on other charges. No bail is set.

Steve M. Scully , 50, 1027 Palm Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on March 17, 2016 at 5:53 pm for possession of marijuana. Narcotics detectives conducting an investigation at a residence on Pacific Street in Berwick located marijuana. While speaking with Scully, he admitted to detectives that the illegal substance was his. Detectives released Scully on a summons to appear in court on May 27, 2016.

Brittany N. Burbante , 25, 644 Russo St. #3A, Berwick, LA was arrested on March 17, 2016 at 7:42 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. Narcotics detectives located Burbante at her residence on the warrant. Burbante was transported to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $2,240.

Devante Frank , 23, 720 Bush St. Morgan City, LA was arrested on March 17, 2016 at 8:52 pm at 327 Charlotte Street in Patterson, LA on a warrant for distribution of cocaine. Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division went to the location on Charlotte Street to serve the warrant that is part of the Spring Cleaning operation (see 3.16.16 release). Detectives observed Frank inside the residence and made contact with him. Frank was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Frank was released after posting a $10,000 bond.
Nickolas J. Morris, II, 28, 115 Doris Street, Amelia, LA was arrested on March 17, 2016 at 12:08 pm on a warrant for possession of synthetic cannabinoids, abuse of toxic vapors, and violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone). Morris turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Morgan City after learning of the warrant for his arrest. Morris was transported to the parish jail for booking. Morris was released after posting a $1,500 bond. The warrant is listed in the Spring Cleaning operation (see 3.16.16 release).

Lorenzo C. Merritt , 27, 101 3B’s Lane, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on march 17, 2016 at 12:40 pm on a warrant for distribution of marijuana. Merritt turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Morgan City after learning of the warrant for his arrest. Merritt was transported to the parish jail for booking. Merritt was released after posting $10,320 bond. The warrant is also listed in the Spring Cleaning operation (see 3.16.16 release).

Cameron Carter , 28, 203 Jones Street, Berwick, LA was arrested on March 17, 2016 at 4:43 pm for possession of methamphetamine, possession of Legend Drug (Macrobid) without a prescription. Carter was also charged on a warrant for simple battery and disturbing the peace (obscene language). Narcotics detectives patrolling Berwick observed a vehicle fail to signal a turn on California Street and conducted a traffic stop. Detectives made contact with the driver, Carter. While speaking with him, detectives received consent to search the vehicle and located a prescription pill bottle containing Macrobid pills. The prescription on the bottle was not for Carter. During the arrest, detectives also located a small bag of methamphetamine inside a cigarette pack in Carter’s pocket. Carter was transported to the parish jail for booking. There a correctional officer located an active warrant for his arrest. The warrant was issued following an investigation into a disturbance that occurred outside of a residence in Bayou Vista. The deputy collected statements that Carter pushed a female victim during an argument. No bail is set.
