St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Investigating Bayou Vista Bank Robbery UPDATE

Charles Berger was wanted in the Bayou Vista burglary and apprehended and arrested by the Beauregard Parish Sheriff's office. In addition to the burglary charge Berger was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of Schedule II drugs.

St. Mary Parish Sheriff's deputies are still working to find out the identity of the man who robbed the MC Bank on Southeast Boulevard in Bayou Vista Tuesday.

Deputies say a man walked into the bank, demanded money from an employee, and the man was able to leave with an undisclosed amount of cash.  No one was harmed during the robbery.

Witnesses describe the suspect as a white male wearing the following:

• Blue jeans
• Dark colored shoes
• Baseball cap

Detectives believe, through their work with Morgan City Police, that there might be a connection to an incident that happened in Morgan City yesterday aw well.

St. Mary Parish deputies are asking anyone with information about an older model red pick-up with a wide silver stripe down the side to call police.  The truck was seen in the Morgan City area between 10:45 and 11:00 yesterday morning.
