St. Mary Parish officials report that they have had another meeting with the National Weather Service about was the forecast will be for the rest of the day, evening and into Wednesday morning for their parish.

Sheriff Mark Hebert's office reports that the only change in the weather forecast is the time frame for expected precipitation.

Rain and sleet is expected to move into the St. Mary Parish area this afternoon with a possibility of snow late tonight, and there could be snow Wednesday morning.

They expect an accumulation of 1/3 of an inch of ice for the parish and winds of 10 to 15 miles per hour with gusts between 20 and 30 miles per hour, and they believe there is a good chance of extended power outages.

Sheriff Hebert says there are no road closures at this time, but he is advising residents to continue to monitor the weather for changing conditions.
