Standoff Ends Peacefully In Iberia Parish

Iberia Parish Sheriff Louis Ackal's Office reports they were called out to the 3000 block of Melancon Road Thursday evening after a man was threatening to harm himself or deputies.

The man stayed in his home for hours as deputies tried to make contact with him.

Eventually after no response from the man, the SWAT team went into his house, and they were able to talk to him without incident.

He was taken away for treatment.
