BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Marinas in Calcasieu and Lafourche parishes have been added to the state's "Clean Marina Program."

Louisiana's Department of Natural Resources says Bowtie Marina in Lake Charles and Moran's Marina in Lafourche were added to the program in the past year. The department says the marinas are now part of a national program in which marina owners and operators employ best management practices that help protect the environment and make their marinas more attractive to the public.

There are now 13 Louisiana marinas in the program. Natural Resources Secretary Scott Angelle says marinas that join the program demonstrate that they understand the importance of conserving coastal resources.
