State Awarded Federal Grant To Create Healthier Louisiana

U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu says Louisiana is being awarded a 500-thousand-dollar federal grant to fund community health programs.

The program is aimed to help fight chronic diseases, which is said to be the leading cause of death in America.  Landrieu says the Community Transformation grant will help address the root causes of chronic diseases by way of prevention programs.
