State Computer Costs Escalate
The Jindal administration's decision to slow plans for a $100 million upgrade to state government computer systems has escalated the price. The governor's Division of Administration started with a pilot program for the Department of Transportation and Development as it was deemed most at-risk to have a computer system failure. Rather than make the computer upgrade across most state agencies at one time the cost increased by $25 million.
