State officials find out this week just how prepared they are.

A full scale test begins today on how well the state responds to a health emergency, including flu epidemics, weather events and terrorist attacks. The test focuses on the state's ability to receive and distribute large supplies of medicines and medical supplies from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's Strategic National Stockpile.

The Department of Health and Hospitals has set up distribution points to get medicine to the public.

The test runs through Thursday.
