State Police Arrest Man Who Robbed 88-Year-Old Woman
LAKE CHARLES – On January 14, 2011, a man grabbed money from the hands of an 88-year-old woman at L'Auberge du Lac Casino Resort. Troopers with the Louisiana State Police Gaming Enforcement Section conducted an investigation and identified the robber as 46-year-old Jesse Simien of Lake Charles. Simien was interviewed and confessed to taking the money.
Troopers obtained a warrant on Simien for simple robbery. Today he was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center. Simple robbery carries a potential maximum penalty of 7 years in prison and a $3,000 fine.
