State Police Arrest Three In Broussard Drug Bust
A traffic violation leads to a huge drug bust. Tuesday afternoon, Trooper Stephen Hammons said they stopped a truck on US 90 near Morgan Street in Broussard. As troopers searched the vehicle, they said they found about 34 pounds of marijuana, that's about $40,000 worth, and 387 grams of synthetic marijuana, which is worth about $7,000. The driver, Justin Keahey, and his two passengers, Travis Lapeyrouse of Lake Charles and a 15-year-old juvenile were arrested. Keahey and Lapeyrouse were booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center while the juvenile was booked into the Lafayette Parish Juvenile Detention Center.
