State Police Investigate Fatal Crash in St. Martin Parish *** UPDATE ***

Louisiana State Police have identified a St. Martin Parish woman who was killed following a crash last night on Louisiana Highway 352 near Louisiana Highway 359. The victim has been identified as 54-year-old Lilly M. Boyd of Breaux Bridge.

State Police Spokesman Brooks David says 39-year-old Jeremy Melancon of Breaux Bridge hit the back of Boyd's car last night.  She was not buckled up, and she was pronounced dead by the St. Martin Parish Coroner's Office.

Melancon was wearing a seat belt, and he only had minor injuries.

David says alcohol is not suspected as a factor in the crash, but routine toxicology samples were sent to the State Police Crime lab.

The crash is still under investigation.
