State Police Investigate Single Car Crash Fatality

Louisiana State Police say 27 year old Jarvis Carey of Melville lost his life this morning in a single car crash. Traveling on LA 105 in St. Landry Parish Carey apparently lost control, over corrected, drove into a ditch and then hit a fence post. Neither Carey or his passenger 26 year old Joshua Horton of Melville was wearing a seat belt. Horton was ejected and sustain moderate injuries. It's unknown if impairment was a factor in the crash but toxicology samples were taken and the crash remains under investigation.
