Parks State Senator Freddie Mills says he will work to encourage Louisiana citizens to support CODOFIL, the Council for the Development of French in Louisiana, by asking people to pay to put "I'm a Cajun" on their driver's licenses.

Senator Mills will have a press conference and kick-off for the event on Monday, March 3 in Breaux Bridge.

Mills will be joined by Public Service Commissioner Scott Angelle, State Representative Mike Huval and other local leaders at the press event scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at the Breaux Bridge City Hall Courtroom at 101 Berard Street.

For five dollars, residents of Louisiana can choose to put "I'm a Cajun" in black below their driver's licenses photograph or state ID cards.

The extra money will be given to CODOFIL.

Mill's passed Senate Bill 201 in the 2013 Regular Legislative Session making the "I'm a Cajun" designation possible.
