Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne is hoping to receive approval from the Jindal
administration this week to spend four-million dollars on a nationwide
tourism campaign. The state's new tourism slogan is "Pick Your Passion,"
and Dardenne says for it to be effective this year they need the money
now.

Dardenne says as part of the marketing campaign, television ads will run
in cities across the south and on certain national cable networks...

Even though Dardenne oversees tourism in Louisiana, he needs approval
from the Jindal administration to spend four-million dollars this fiscal
year. Dardenne says the B-P spill has created a perception problem
nationally and a marketing campaign this spring will help boost tourism.
(The Jindal administration says Dardenne should have an answer soon.)
