Stepfather Resigning From Iota Police Department Over Alleged Sexual Battery Of Stepdaughter

A man employed with the Iota Police Department is now resigning following a sexual battery charge brought against him.

Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon says 44-year-old Howard "Jamie" Doucet of Iota has been arrested following an investigation of the complaint reported by Doucet's 19-year-old stepdaughter. The incident allegedly happened about two years ago.

Bond for Doucet has been set at $25,000.00.
