Lafayette’s “Stevie P.” is the Sun Belt Broadcaster of the Year
Those of us at Townsquare Media have known what Steve Peloquin has meant to sports in the Sun Belt Conference.
Now, the rest of the league knows as well.
For his efforts in promoting the conference, especially in the field of women's sports, Steve has been named the Sun Belt Conference Broadcaster of the year.
Steve was honored Wednesday night before the UL-FIU baseball game and threw out the first pitch in front of over 2,000 partisan Cajuns fans.
Last year was the first time in history that a commercial radio station aired every women's softball game at the Division I level. It was Steve's leadership that made that happen. And, it's only fitting that Steve's work continues this weekend in the NCAA Softball SuperRegional at Ann Arbor, MI.
In addition to his duties on the women's side of athletics, Steve is also the sideline reporter for UL football and has hosted his morning talk show from New Orleans both years that the Cajuns have played in the New Orleans Bowl.
We've always known about Steve's professionalism and commitment to UL Women's sports and Townsquare Media.
Now, so do you.
