Three people are in critical condition after a stolen-car joyride ended with a serious crash when the driver lost control and struck a tree.

Scott Police Chief Chad Leger reported the crash occurred near the intersection of Brothers Road and Roper Drive in Scott at approximately 1:00 a.m. Monday morning.

Leger said the driver lost control of the vehicle while traveling at high speeds north on Brothers Road.

Three of the car's occupants were ejected upon impact. They were transported to Lafayette General Medical Center for treatment.

Investigators discovered the car had been stolen in Lafayette over the weekend. Within the car, police discovered a firearm that the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office had reported stolen, as well.

The front-seat occupants were listed as the driver, 22-year-old Alfred Victor, and 17-year-old Tylon Morrison. The two passengers in the rear of the vehicle were juveniles.

One of the juveniles was treated for a fractured elbow and wrist at University Health Center. He has since been the only person able to speak to officers about the incident.

No arrests have been made, nor have any citations been issued yet but Leger said charges are pending once the patients receive a medical release.
