37-year-old Brad Devonce Vincent is behind bars after St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office detectives arrested him for allegedly stealing from eight homes along La. Highway 182 and La. Highway 87 from Verdunville to Jeanerette.

Traci Landry with the Sheriff's Office says, once detectives found similarities between the burglaries and developed Vincent as a suspect, they went to his home on Denea Street in New Iberia and searched his home. Landry says, with help from the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office, detectives found several stolen items and other evidence linking Vincent to the crimes.

“I commend our detectives who worked tirelessly to crack these cases," says St. Mary Sheriff Mark Hebert. "It was good old fashioned police work by experienced investigators that solved these crimes. I would also thank the residents. Your full cooperation with detectives and support for their work played a significant part in solving the cases.”

Even as officers are returning the items to their rightful owners, detectives say there are three more warrants for Vincent's arrest on burglary charges. Authorities continue to investigate as the cases remain open and encourage you to call the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office at 337-828-1960 or by email at crimewatch@stmaryso.com if you have any information about the crimes.

Vincent currently sits in the Iberia Parish Jail.
