THIBODAUX, La. (AP) — The city of Thibodaux is looking to remedy what Mayor Tommy Eschete calls a poor downtown parking situation.

The Daily Comet reports the city is teaming with the LouisianaDepartment of Transportation and Development to pay for a study to outline solutions.

Downtown is home to numerous government offices and non-retail businesses where employees use the street parking.

Eschete says the issue comes down to there not being enough off-street parking for employees of government and businesses.

He says the parking problem is an annoyance to patrons and business owners.

Digital Engineering and Imaging is set to begin the study, which will take 60 days.
