KENNER, La. (AP) - Police in Kenner say the bodies of an elderly couple have been found in a car that was submerged in Lake Pontchartrain.

Police say in a news release that foul play is not suspected and the case was being treated as a traffic accident. Authorities say it appears the car went into the water from the boat launch.

The statement says that only the vehicle's luggage rack was visible when officers arrived at the scene Friday morning.

The bodies of 69-year-old Wallace Dillion and his 70-year-old wife, Abbie, of Kenner were discovered inside the vehicle after the car was pulled out of the water.

Police got the call shortly after 9:30 a.m. It was unclear when the car went into the water.
