Yesterday Lafayette Police Department’s Youth Services Section worked an underage alcohol buy operation.  They used an undercover person under the age of 21 to try to buy alcohol from Lafayette businesses.

Six summonses were issued during the operation, and police checked thirty stores.

The following is a list of where the summonses were issued:

  • Tobacco Plus, 906 Ambassador Caffery, Violation: *Sales to Persons Under21
  • Valero, 2302 Ambassador Caffery, Violation: *Sales to Persons Under 21, *No Bar Card
  • Econo Mart, 2077 Verot School Road, Violation: *Sales to Persons Under 21
  • Kwik Stop, 200 Louisiana Avenue, Violation: *Sales to Persons Under 21
  • Chassion’s Mart  100 East Pont Des Mouton, Violation: *Sales to Persons Under 21

There were twenty-five businesses who were checked and found to be in compliance with the law:

  • Shell, 406 Ambassador Caffery
  • Circle K, 3806 Ambassador Caffery

  • Spirit, 218 Jefferson Street
  • Lucky’s, 509 East Simcoe Street

  • Chevron, 1600 Moss Street
  • T & J Grocery, 2331 Moss Street
  • Country Mart, 3601 Moss Street
  • Valero, 3802 Moss Street
  • Food Mart, 120 East Pont Des Mouton
