Sunday Morning Crash Kills Catahoula Man

ST. MARTINVILLE, La. (KPEL) -- One person is dead following a fiery crash Sunday in St. Martinville.

Maj. Ginny Higgins with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to the accident on Isle Labbe Road. When officers arrived, they found the car on fire, Higgins said.

Fire crews quickly extinguished the fire, Higgins said.

The single vehicle appeared to have been traveling eastbound on Isle Labbe Road when it left the roadway and impacted a tree. - Higgins.

The driver of the car, identified as 32-year-old Joseph Guillot IV from Catehoula, was pronounced dead at the scene, Higgins said.

The crash remains under investigation.
