Nintendo May Be Dropping An SNES Mini This Year In Time For Christmas

If you didn’t get your hands on the NES Classic here is your chance to make up for it.

According to Eurogamer, Nintendo is working on a mini version of it’s classic Super Nintendo gaming console. While 80s babies loved the original Nintendo, many of them also enjoyed the SNES as they grew older with classics like Super Mario World, Mario Kart and more.

Recently it was announced that Nintendo was discontinuing the NES Classic Edition, which left many people puzzled due to the console being sold out everywhere due to its high demand.

The NES Classic was a plug-and-play box that came with 30 pre-installed classic Nintendo games like Super Mario Bros. 1-3, Donkey Kong, Punch-Out!!, Final Fantasy, Metroid and more.

Nintendo apologized for the stock shortages around Holiday 2016, saying they “misjudged” how popular it would be. As of February, sales of the NES Classic had reached 1.5 million worldwide, but the final shipments went out this month.

Eurogamer says the SNES Mini is also a factor in the discontinuation of the NES

Nintendo’s plans for SNES mini are also a major reason why last year’s NES mini did not see a reprieve from discontinuation, Eurogamer understands, despite the latter’s continued popularity and sell-out status.

I would imagine this SNES Mini being just as popular as the nostalgic NES Classic, so the question is what games should be featured on the console?
