Surrey Street Near Bridge Closed For Hours Monday

Shortly after 2:00 o'clock Monday afternoon Lafayette Police investigated a two vehicle crash in the 1500 block of Surrey Street. The head-on crash involved a tractor-trailer and an SUV. The tractor-trailer driver was taken to a local hospital with minor/moderate injuries while the driver of the SUV sustained serious injuries. Surrey Street near River Road was closed for hours as the vehicles were cleared from the area. The crash remains under investigation.
