Two Opelousas residents were arrested after St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz says their was several hours of surveillance of their home in Royal Garden Subdivision in Opelousas.

Guidroz says, "Cory Williams and Jasmine Rideau, both from Opelousas, were arrested on April 30 by our Narcotic Enforcement Team."

The Sheriff says that his office received a tip that there might be drug activity going on in that neighborhood.

Guidroz says,

"Agents were able to gather evidence leading to the arrest of both Williams and Rideau. Agents were able to seize 2 ounces of marijuana, 5 grams of crystal meth, several bottles adderall, hydrocodone and zanax pills. The street value of these narcotics are worth approximately $3,000.”

Cory Williams of 5228 Highway 358 in Opelousas was charged with the following:

  • Two counts of possession with intent to distribute a schedule I CDS
  • Possession of hydrocodone
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Flight from an officer

Jasmine Rideau of 820 Leo St. in Opelousas was charged with the following:

  • Two counts of possession with intent to distribute a schedule I CDS
  • Possession of hydrocodone
  • Possession of zanax
  • Possession of adderall
