Suspect Arrested In Attempted Murder Case From 2014

Lafayette Police have arrested 28-year-old Terrence J. Augustine for a shooting that happened in October of last year in the 900 block of East Simcoe Street.

Witnesses at the scene last year say the victim was trying to break up a fight in the early morning hours of October 12, when Augustine is alleged to have pulled out a handgun and started firing.

Augustine's shots hit the victim once in the hand and twice in the chest. The 34-year-old man survived.

Augustine was arrested on a charge of attempted 2nd degree murder.
