The suspect wanted in a Jan. 17 shooting in Breaux Bridge has turned himself into St. Martin Parish Sheriff's authorities today.

Damien Ross Fontenette, 29, of Breaux Bridge was arrested and booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center this afternoon for attempted second-degree murder.

The sheriff's office reported deputies arrived at the scene of the shooting on George Dupuis Rd. where 26-year-old victim Abrum Fontenette had sustained a gunshot wound, but the suspect had already fled the scene.

Fontenette's bond was set at $250,000.
