Suspect Arrested in Lafayette Home Invasion

On February 17, Lafayette Police officers were called out to a home in the 100 block of Chicago Lane after they were notified of a home invasion.

Now police say 54-year-old Robert Lavergne of Lafayette was arrested by officers of the Marksville Police Department.

The victim told police while she was in her home, the suspect forced open her door and stole an undisclosed amount of cash.  The suspect then fled in the victim's car.  The car was later recovered by police,

The victim received minor injuries during the crime.

Lavergne has been arrested on charges of home invasion and first degree robbery.
