Deputies in Iberia Parish have in custody a suspect in the July 22 shooting at Mon Ami Tavern on East Highway 90.

Captain Ryan Turner with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office says three people were shot in the incident that detectives believe started inside the bar and continued into the parking lot. Two of them were treated for their gunshot wounds at a local hospital while one of them, 22-year-old Harold Delfils of Franklin, died from his injuries.

Capt. Turner says 24-year-old Steven Proctor has been identified as the person who shot one of the surviving victims. He is being held without bond in the Iberia Parish Jail, charged with attempted second degree murder.

Police continue to investigate and more arrests are possible.
