Suspect Arrested In Possession Of Child Pornography Case

On December 1, 2010, the Lafayette Police Department’s Cyber Crimes Unit began conducting undercover operations to locate those individuals who possess, manufacture and/or distribute child pornography.

As a result of these operations, investigators obtained a search warrant for an apartment at 223 Hector Connolly Road in Carencro, on December 29, 2010.  Investigators located a computer in the residence with child pornography images contained on it.  Arrested was Stephen Piwonka (43) of Carencro and charged with Possession of Pornography Involving Juveniles.  Piwonka was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.  The case remains under investigation.
