Suspect In Bayou Vista Bank Robbery Caught

Suspected bank robbery Barry Gilmore was taken into police custody today at a Morgan City business by police there.

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office says the man was found on Highway 182.

Police in St. Mary Parish have identified the person believed to be responsible for the robbery of a MC Bank in Bayou Vista.

Traci Landry with the sheriff's office said the suspect is 53-year-old Barry Paul Gilmore.

Police said Gilmore drives a 1990 Chevrolet pickup truck with an Idaho license plate 1A8F988.

Gilmore is wanted on a charge of simple burglary.
