Suspect In Murder Of Vermilion Officer Allegedly Used Plastic Cup To Beat Deputy
Quintylan Richard, a suspect facing the death penalty in the first-degree murder of Vermilion Parish deputy Allen Bares, Jr., is accused of using a plastic cup to hit a deputy in the head and the face several times.
Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office spokesman Capt. Craig Stansbury says Richard came up behind the deputy to attack him, putting him in the hospital with several lacerations. The deputy has since been released from the hospital.
Richard will be charged with Aggravated Battery.
