One of the two people charged in the death of a 19-year-old New Iberia man has pleaded not guilty in the case.

20-year-old Nicholas Felix entered his not guilty plea in court yesterday in the death of Frederick Joseph.

Felix has been charged with principal to second-degree murder and principal to attempted second-degree murder.

In addition to Felix facing charges in Joseph's death, he is also accused of wounding a second person.

According to a June 5 indictment, Felix "intentionally participated" in the shooting.
