On December 18, 2010, at approximately 4:15 pm, it was reported to the Lafayette Police Department that two suspects riding in a vehicle had pointed a handgun at the victim traveling in traffic in the 4200 block of Ambassador Caffery Parkway.  The suspect’s vehicle was located in the parking lot of Academy Sports unoccupied.  Officers observed two suspects exiting the store and approach the vehicle in question.  Both suspects were detained for questioning.  As a result of the investigation, Jeremiah Batiste (29) of Lafayette and Brandon McZeal (21) of Lafayette were arrested for Possession of Marijuana, Possession with Intent to Distribute Xanax, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.  McZeal is alleged to have pointed the gun at the victim and was additionally charged with Aggravated Assault.  The case remains under investigation.
