The two suspects wanted for the Thursday afternoon robbery of St. Martinville's MidSouth Bank were arrested in a joint effort by the St. Martinville Police Department and the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office.

St. Martinville Police Chief Calder Hebert said 46-year-old Kerwin Morris and 54-year-old Abdul Udin were apprehended outside of city limits by sheriff's deputies near Cypress Island. The men were turned over to city police and arrested for first degree robbery.

Hebert confirmed what residents said about the suspects throwing cash out of the vehicle during the chase. Apparently, the bank teller who was serving the suspects, was able to include what is called a "dye bag" into the loot. The robbers were disposing of the tainted cash just before they were apprehended.

The suspects were booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center.
