Update: 27-year-old Memphis Matthews and 24-year-old Douglas Ledet, both of Breaux Bridge, as well as 28-year-old Quincy Alexander of St. Martinville, are now wanted for the alleged purse snatching that happened in the 3800 block of Ambassador Caffery on April 29.

Matthews and Ledet are both facing Purse Snatching charges, while Alexander faces Principal to Purse Snatching for allegedly helping them get away.

A purse snatching on Ambassador Caffery Tuesday has officers looking for two accused thieves.

According to Lafayette Police, the 34-year-old female victim, who suffered minor injuries during the incident, says she got out of her vehicle, felt someone tap her on the shoulder and was told "Give me that." She says a black male suspect wearing a black hooded sweatshirt then forcefully pulled the purse from her and ran away.

Police say another black male wearing a white muscle shirt was with him, and they both ran to a convenience store and fled in a vehicle with three other black males. The suspect's vehicle is a gold older model Honda Accord with a sunroof and missing the front bumper.
