Suspicious Package In Judice Park Turns Out To Be Someone’s Garbage

The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office says what was thought to be a suspicious package at Judice Park, turned out to be nothing more than someone's garbage. Captain Kip Judice tells KPEL a briefcase was seen near a fence at the park this morning prompting someone to call police. As they were investigating, a gentleman who had discarded the briefcase yesterday told officers someone must have come along after him thinking it contained something of value. The area is now clear.
