Because of the rainy weather and lightning that hit Lafayette last Saturday, Household Chemical Day had to be called off for the day and postponed to June 27th.
Residents in the city of Lafayette and in unincorporated areas of Lafayette Parish can dispose of household chemicals such as paint, poison, chemical cleaners, mercury, and other chemicals at the household chemical disposal day on Saturday, Oct. 18.
On Saturday, April 12, Lafayette Consolidated Government's Environmental Quality Division is sponsoring a household chemical drop-off day. Only residents living in the city of Lafayette or unincorporated Lafayette Parish will be allowed to drop off chemicals.
This event gives residents in the city of Lafayette and unincorporated areas of Lafayette Parish the chance to safely get rid of paint, poison, chemical cleaners, mercury and other chemicals.
