Inspectors are wrapping up work on the Atchafalaya Basin bridge, an inspection that is required at least twice a year, according to officials with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.
The state Department of Transportation and Development bought most of the block as right of way for a future I-49 interchange and plans to demolish the buildings there.
The I-49 bonds will be repaid using money that comes from the state's unclaimed property, but Kennedy says people can still claim all of their unclaimed money.
Officials working on the Interstate 49 project worry that more discussion about the Teche Ridge route will just lead to further delays in getting the interstate project completed.
