U.S. Congressman Charles Boustany says the Obama administration is making an "ill-advised, desperate political move" releasing oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserves.

Oil spill response workers under the direction of the Coast Guard and state officials are working to block a large area of emulsified oil and tar balls from coming ashore along Louisiana's coast.

The President of the Louisiana Oil and Gas Association spent time with the hosts from the Morning Report discussing the status of drilling permits in the Gulf of Mexico for both deep water and shallow water projects.  Don Briggs says the news is not great.
