40 year old Camille Cooper of Bastrop was sentenced to 30 months in prison and a year of supervised release today for filing income tax returns containing false information. Cooper was also order by US District Judge Robert James to pay over $92,000 in restitution to the IRS for one count of aiding and assisting in making a false income tax return.

Cooper was a tax preparer at Faster Tax Refund Express in Bastrop where she filed 17 fraudulent 1040 forms. Due to the falsified returns the IRS issued $92,530 to Cooper's customers who were not entitled to the money. Cooper also received $2,275 in kickbacks from customers.
